2. What Are Support Structures, Raft Structures, and Support Scarring?
1. Support Structures: 🪜 Temporary structures printed to support overhanging features during the printing process.
1. Raft Structures: 🛏️ Base layers printed beneath your part to improve bed adhesion and prevent warping.
1. Support Scarring: ⚡ Surface marks or rough areas left behind where support structures were attached to your part.
3. How to Remove Support & Raft Structures
FDM Parts: 🔧 Gently pull supports away with hands or tools.
SLA Parts: ✂️ Use flush cutters to carefully snip supports, being cautious with delicate features.
4. Removing Support Scarring (SLA Parts)
Use sandpaper (start with ~150 grit) and gloves. Gradually sand surfaces, wiping away dust for a smooth finish.
