Summer Fridays are in effect from May 26, 2026 through Labor Day weekend. Here is what changes, and what does not.
1. What is changing
Friday closing time: We close at 1pm on Fridays for the summer.
Other weekdays are unchanged: Monday through Thursday hours remain 10am to 5pm.
2. What is NOT changing
Lead times: All published lead times remain accurate. Friday is still a full production day on our floor.
Order cutoff times: Cutoffs for same-day production and dispatch on Friday are unchanged.
Outbound shipping: Friday shipments still leave on schedule.
Production capacity: Our printers run continuously through the weekend, including after hours.
3. What to plan for
Friday pickups: If you are picking up an order on a Friday, please arrive by 12:30pm so we can hand off your parts before we close. See our pickup protocol article for the sign-in process at the front desk.
Friday afternoon questions: Email and chat responses may be delayed after 1pm on Fridays. We will catch up first thing Monday morning.
Friday afternoon emergencies: For urgent issues, please email hello@makelab.com. We monitor for emergencies even when the shop is closed.
4. When does this end
Summer Fridays continue through Friday, September 4, 2026 (the Friday before Labor Day). Regular Friday hours (10am to 5pm) resume on Friday, September 11, 2026.
