My upload failed - what should I do?

Last updated: 2026-03-17

1. Upload Failed - Troubleshooting Steps

If your file upload fails, try these troubleshooting steps:

2. Common Causes & Solutions

1. File Too Large — Maximum file size is 100 MB.

Reduce file size by lowering STL resolution/triangle count, compressing the file to .zip format, or splitting large assemblies into separate files.

2. Unsupported File Format — We accept STL, OBJ, STEP, 3MF, and most CAD formats.

Export your file as STL or OBJ for best compatibility.

3. Network/Connection Issues — Slow internet or connection drops during upload.

Try again on a stable connection, use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi, or try a different browser (Chrome recommended).

4. Browser Issues — Ad blockers or privacy settings may interfere.

Disable ad blockers for makelab.com, clear browser cache and cookies, or try incognito/private browsing mode.

5. Corrupted File — File may be damaged or incomplete.

Re-export from your CAD software, verify file opens correctly on your computer, or try converting to a different format.
