File Changes
- File Trade-ins: File trade-ins are not permitted after an order is placed unless a Makelab team member reviews the file for potential pricing differences and printability.
- File Change Requests: File trade-in requests will only be reviewed if a Makelab team member is notified within 6 hours after placing the order.
- Order Confirmation Change Requests: Changes requested after an order confirmation will only be accepted within a 2-hour window. Any requests made beyond this window will not be accepted.
- CAD Files for Reprints: When a reprint is issued by Makelab, CAD file trade-ins are not accepted. Reprinted files must match the original files; any new files must be submitted as a new order.
- Self-Serve System Orders: CAD models submitted through the Self-Serve System will be printed "as is" with the uploaded dimensions. Makelab assumes no responsibility for incorrect dimensions uploaded via the Self-Serve System. It is the customer’s responsibility to verify CAD model dimensions before placing orders.
- Manual Quotes: For CAD models manually quoted by Makelab, customers must verify dimensions before placing orders. Dimensions are provided at the quote stage on the PDF and email quote.
Design Policy
- First Revision: For any 3D CAD file creation project, the first revision of a CAD model designed by Makelab is complimentary. Further revisions will be priced individually, per part, by Makelab.
- No Refunds: Refunds for the 3D CAD file creation process are not available once 3D CAD files are approved by the client or printed by Makelab. Projects will not progress without explicit client approval to ensure accuracy.
- Free Revision Request Period: A single free revision per project must be requested within 10 business days following the last Makelab design update. This revision is subject to designer approval. Examples of eligible free revisions include changes to sizing, feature placement, or minor cosmetic adjustments.
- Test Print: For design projects, Makelab will provide one (1) test print in PLA at draft quality at no additional charge. The client will be responsible for any shipping costs. The test print parameters are:
- Material: PLA
- Color: Tech's choice
- Print Quality: Draft (300 Microns) setting
- Printing Orders: Only one test print will be provided per design project. Printing orders beyond this test print must be submitted as a separate order and will be invoiced independently.
- No Refunds for Design Projects: Design projects are non-refundable.

- Refund Requests: Refund requests for 3D printed parts will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. To initiate the refund process, please submit a ticket to Makelab. We may request that the affected part be returned for assessment. Makelab will provide postage for the return of the part.
- 10-Day Window for Refunds: Refund requests must be made within a 10-day window starting from the day the order is received.
- Reprints for Print Failures: If a print failure is determined to be caused by machine error, post-processing issues, or improper packaging, Makelab will issue a reprint at no additional cost.
- Customer CAD File Errors: Print failures resulting from customer-provided CAD files or specific settings requested by the customer will be eligible for a reprint at 50% of the original cost.
- Shipping Issues: Orders lost in transit due to shipping carrier issues may be reprinted at 50% of the original cost.

Printing and Delivery Considerations
- Orientation and Settings: Unless otherwise specified, Makelab will determine optimal print orientation. Specific orientation or settings must be provided in the notes section of the order.
