This Privacy Policy describes how Makelab Inc. ("Makelab," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you visit our websites, contact us, request a quote, place an order, sign up for our newsletter, or opt in to our SMS messaging program.

Website visits and email activity. When you browse makelab.com, help.makelab.com or quote.makelab.com, we record which pages you visit using a first-party cookie. If you sign in, send us a form, chat with us, or click a link in one of our emails, we connect those visits to your account so we can help you better. Our emails also record when they are opened and which links are clicked. We don't sell this information. To have it deleted, write to hello@makelab.com.
Marketing email. Now and then we send a newsletter with news and updates from Makelab. It goes to people who have done business with us or been in touch with us by email: anyone who has a quote account, requested a quote, placed an order, emailed us, been copied on an email about a quote, order or support request, been sent one of our quotes by someone else, applied for net-30 terms, or met with us. It also goes to people who signed up for it on our website. We never add someone whose only contact with us was a job application, an SMS opt-in, or being named as a trade reference on a credit application. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to hello@makelab.com to be taken off the list. Unsubscribing stops marketing email only. We will still email you about your own quotes, orders and support requests.
Makelab operates a transactional and conversational SMS program. Customers and prospects who explicitly opt in receive SMS messages about order status, quote notifications, project updates, delivery and pickup confirmations, and one-to-one replies to inquiries and support requests. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out.
Opt-in is collected through a standalone, unchecked-by-default consent checkbox on our intake form at www.makelab.com/intake and our SMS opt-in form at www.makelab.com/sms-opt-in. The consent checkbox is presented separately from any other agreement and the form cannot be submitted unless the user ticks the box. Phone numbers are used solely to send the transactional notifications described above. If you give us a phone number or email address only to opt in to text messages, we don't add it to our marketing email list.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, lease, or share your phone number, SMS opt-in data, or consent with any third party for marketing purposes.
SMS opt-in records are retained for the duration of your participation in the program plus a reasonable period afterward to evidence consent. Other personal information is retained as long as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you unsubscribe from marketing email, we keep your address on a do-not-send list permanently so we don't add you again.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Information is processed in the United States under applicable U.S. law.
Readers in the EU and UK. We email people we already have a relationship with on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping in touch, and people who signed up on our website on the basis of their consent. You can object to marketing email at any time, free of charge, by using the unsubscribe link or writing to hello@makelab.com, and we will stop.
Readers in Canada. We send marketing email only to people who have an existing business relationship with us or who have asked to hear from us. We act on unsubscribe requests promptly, and always within 10 business days.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
