Can you produce assemblies with moving parts?

Last updated: 2026-04-09

Yes — Makelab can produce assemblies, but moving parts usually require special design considerations.

Clearances must be built into the CAD model to ensure that components don’t fuse during printing. Some processes handle assemblies better than others — SLA is excellent for detail, while MJF provides strength for functional testing. For high-stakes applications, printing components separately and assembling afterward is often more reliable.
